The City of Sydney is seeking a talented and active person for the position of Senior Research Officer in the City of Sydney’s Strategy & Urban Analytics Unit. The successful applicant will have superior research, analysis and report writing skills.
The role involves managing the City of Sydney Wellbeing Survey. The role also involves collection, analysis, research and reporting on data collected in the City’s Community Indicators Framework, liaising with various units in Council and external clients and provide support to the Strategy & Urban Analytics Unit where required. Further research and reporting will be undertaken in economic and business trends, tourism and social / demographic fields to support the Community Strategic Plan.
Applicants should hold tertiary qualifications in Geography, Planning, or a related discipline. Evidence of research experience and knowledge of social, demographic and planning issues is essential. Applicants must demonstrate superior computer skills and an ability to work in a small team and meet deadlines. Knowledge and experience with SPSS is preferred.
