About the opportunity

This exciting new role will work with Council’s Corporate Counsel and Lawyer to assist in the delivery of Council’s legal needs as well as providing a high level of support in the provision of a dynamic and pro-active legal service to Council.
This is a great opportunity for those who have significant professional administrative experience who enjoy solving problems through evaluating and analysing information, carrying out significant research and managing the ongoing planning of a project to ensure strategic outcomes are met.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or Legal Services 
  • Extensive experience in the use of various computer applications MS Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability and commitment to providing excellent customer service internal and external
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, sound judgement, discretion and confidentiality whilst meeting strict deadlines
  • Understanding and commitment to ethical practice and acting with probity at all times 
  • Significant professional administrative experience (minimum 8 years) 
  • Experience using PEXA’s online electronic lodgement network.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Local Government
  • Availability to work flexible working hours
  • High level competency in Technology One
  • Knowledge of Court procedures and document presentation
  • Knowledge of Courts, especially Land and Environment
  • Class “C” Driver's Licence
  • Qualified as a Native Title Manager
  • Justice of the Peace.

Remuneration & Benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
