HOBAN are looking to engage 4 Places and Allocations Officers to work with one of our busy Federal Government clients based in the Sydney CBD near central station.

The APS5 Officer position in Places and Allocations Management is responsible for the management and administration of residential and flexible aged care places and associated tasks.

You may also be required to evaluate applications for places under the Aged Care Act (1997), to inform recommendations to the national delegate.

Main duties of the role includes:

  • Preparation of submissions to the Delegate in respect of applications to transfer or vary aged care places or extend provisional aged care places, in line with local and national policies and procedures
  • Case management of residential and flexible services with provisional and offline places and services that are restructuring or closing
  • Assessment of evidence provided in applications following threshold assessment processes and legislated requirements
  • Completing assessment of allocated applications on time and bringing matters to the attention of the relevant local project lead where timely assessment may not be reached
  • Liaison with and provision of up to date information to stakeholders on aged care programs
  • Providing input and advice to briefs, meeting and speaking notes and requests for information
  • Updating and maintaining relevant information systems in a timely manner to ensure accurate and complete information is available to support decisions
  • Undertaking related projects, research, risk assessment and evaluation work as identified or directed
  • Processing payments and inputting data into payments systems

Skills and qualifications required:

  • Ability to achieve results and deliver on program or project outcomes
  • Good communication skills, including representational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
  • Well-developed ability to draft quality correspondence, briefings and reports
  • Well-developed analytical skills, including the ability to apply legislation and policy in decision making and make sound judgements and recommendations
  • Capacity to contribute effectively to a team, and the ability to manage workflow and competing priorities
  • Exemplify personal drive and professionalism  
  • Well-developed IT skills including Word and Excel
  • A broad understanding of the Australian aged care system and programs, or the ability to rapidly acquire it
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment
  • Experience in the assessment of funding applications and competitive tender processes

You must be Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

The ideal candidate will be able to start ASAP.
