IPART is the independent regulator of the water, public transport, local government, electricity and gas industries and the Energy Savings Scheme in NSW. IPART also undertakes reviews and investigations into a wide range of economic and policy issues and perform a number of other roles at the NSW Government's request.
Description
The Principal Analyst - Pricing is responsible for leading and/or managing detailed economic/financial analysis, strategic/policy advice and research on complex issues relevant to the pricing of monopoly services and other industry based reviews. The role leads a team of analysts to deliver research, analysis, expert advice and projects in an industry subject to price regulation by IPART.
Pricing teams set or recommend prices and undertake investigations into a wide range of economic and policy issues across water, transport, energy, local government and other areas at the NSW Government's request.
- Lead and manage the planning and delivery of complex reviews related to pricing and economic regulation
- Plan and establish the research and information requirements for reviews and manage the delivery of complex research and technical analysis
- Provide expert economic and financial analysis, assessment and strategic policy advice to management and the
- Tribunal on the appropriate frameworks for monopoly service pricing
- Develop a robust regulatory framework.
Profile
You will have experience applying economic, financial, regulatory and/or policy analysis to water, energy, public transport, local government or comparable sectors.
You will be able to make the right recommendations, drawing on your strong analytical skills and sound understanding of economic and regulatory principles. You will also be able to communicate effectively, produce well reasoned and well written briefs and reports, lead and/or manage other analysts, and deliver results on time.
