Aerial Task Manager - National Red Imported Fire Ant Eradication Program

 

As the Aerial Task Manager, you will manage the tasking components of the aerial processes necessary for the treatment/surveillance for the eradication of Red Imported Fire Ants (RIFA).

 

In undertaking this role, you will:

 

  • Conduct the aerial treatment and aerial surveillance tasking in accordance with CASA Legislation and Orders; Qld Legislation, Qld Procurement requirements, the Departments’ Aviation Safety Policy, Aviation Risk Assessment and Management Procedures and the Program’s procedures.
  • Engage and manage stakeholder relationships to ensure supplier and operational arrangements are delivered.
  • Demonstrate a high level of record keeping and communication for successful delivery across all aspects of aerial operations including with stakeholders, suppliers, program staff and clients.
  • Review and develop aerial operations procedures in accordance with the governance and program requirements.
  • Supervise staff to assist in the delivery of aerial operations including Client Liaison Officer and Field Assistants
  • Monitor, identify potential issues and provide advice on managing issues, record and report on aerial operations.

 

Providing the program’s performance is meeting the goals set down by the 10 year eradication plan, consideration will be given to permanent employment.

Note 2 – The National Red Imported Fire Ant Eradication Program is currently located at Moggill and a new consolidated headquarters site at Berrinba. Sections of the Program will progressively relocate to the new site commencing in June 2018 and it is expected that most program areas will operate from the new site at Berrinba as from November 2018.  The Aerial unit is currently operating from Berrinba but is establishing premises at Wacol.
