The NSW Telco Authority leads and drives operational telecommunications reform for the public sector.
The Authority supports NSW Government agencies that use radio communication as a critical operational requirement, including public safety and law enforcement agencies, emergency, essential and community services providers.
As the Director Commercial, you will lead, direct and manage the commercial and financial strategies, plans and services for the NSW Telco Authority and for whole-of-government activities in the operational telecommunications sector.
Some of the key accountabilities for the role include:
- Determine the commercial strategy for the Authority including program and project delivery. This includes leading and overseeing the planning design, development and management of telecommunication sourcing, contract and procurement strategies and services for the Authority and the sector as category manager while ensuring compliance with legislative and policy requirements
- Oversee and manage relevant whole of government and other contract negotiations to ensure compliance and optimise outcomes of all commercial contracts and contract variations
- Lead discrete strategic and high-value operational commercial and sourcing projects, end to end, and provide specialist expertise and advice
- Manage the relationship for the provision of financial management services and advice through the DFSI central Finance function and ensure that services provided are fit-for-purpose for the Authority
- Lead the development of capital funding submissions to the Cabinet through the Expenditure Review Committee and Treasury, and report to relevant Cabinet Committees and Infrastructure NSW.
- Develop the pricing strategy and oversee the funding model and client billing arrangements for Authority services. Identify and initiate commercial opportunities to maximise the value of the existing NSW portfolio of assets, services and market-based solutions. This includes assessing the impact of potential new products and services by the client and stakeholder team, in particular analysing the commercial viability and pricing of products and services
