This role will work for Science Division, which sits within the Office of Environment and Heritage. Science Division provides scientific evidence and knowledge to underpin environmental decision making, regulation and service delivery.
 
About the Role:
Lead and manage the provision of effective and efficient executive support and services for Science Division.

• Deliver excellence in executive support, including high quality briefing material for the Executive Director, and business planning and reporting
• Develop and maintain a strategic understanding of Science Division and provide operational and administrative support to meet the requirements and expectations of geographically dispersed staff.
• Collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders to lead the implementation of appropriate people and culture, workforce planning and health and safety functions.

Essential requirements:
• Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in leading and delivering executive and operational support including challenging business and performance improvement programs and change initiatives.
• Experience and understanding of the workings and complexities of environmental, conservation and cultural heritage issues and management, with a particular interest in science.
 
To be successful in the role, ideally you will have:
• Experience in managing and supporting a team of people
• Previous background or experience working with staff in a technical or scientific area of expertise
