About the Project

Landcom has partnered with Transport for NSW (Sydney Metro Delivery Office) to collaborate on the master planning, development and divestment of the government land surrounding the Sydney Metro Northwest station sites. Landcom and Transport for NSW will work together to deliver vibrant and well-designed places that capitalise on the new metro system. This program is referred to as Sydney Metro Northwest Places.
  
About the Role
  • Identify and engage community and business sectors to develop new placemaking projects that contribute towards viable and inviting places.
  • Manage the development and delivery of a framework and associated policies for place-making partnership proposals to determine feasibility, cost, impacts and outcomes and enhance placemaking outcomes.
  • Support the implementation of temporary and/or short-term trials and activations to demonstrate and test community interest and potential outcomes for longer-term place-making projects.
  • Develop an approach to monitor the effectiveness of placemaking strategies and provide feedback to Landcom and partners and deliver continuous improvement in placemaking initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain community groups and organisations, local businesses and business networks to ensure coordination of place programs and activities in identified locations across each interim activation areas.
  • Contribute to community engagement activities to assist communities in identifying placemaking strategies and outcomes for their local places.
    
About the Person
  • Tertiary qualifications in property, project management, place management, economic development, events, marketing or equivalent related fields or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • A background in place planning and project implementation, event management, community and stakeholder engagement, social and economic development planning place making background.
  • Experience and/or awareness of destination marketing to create brand awareness for projects and drive traffic.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills including the ability to write concise and accurate reports, correspondence, contracts and tenders, manage strong collaborative relationships and networks and influence and motivate staff and stakeholders to effectively engage with the community in complex place-based environments.
  • Demonstrated excellent planning and coordination skills to meet competing deadlines, demonstrating a flexible work ethic to meet varying work demands.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic, fast paced program that required a level or pragmatism and agility to respond to changing needs and deadlines
