About us
 
The Crown Solicitor’s Office (CSO) is the largest provider of legal services to the NSW Government and its agencies and the sole provider of legal services in all matters which are regarded as being core to Government functions. The CSO provides core legal services to the NSW Government on a cost recovery basis and competes with the private sector for general legal work. 
 
The CSO is headed by the Crown Solicitor and is a Public Service Executive agency related to the Department of Justice under the Government Sector Employment Act 2013. 
 
About the role
 
Reporting to the Practice Manager, the Director, People and Transformation is responsible for the development and leadership of contemporary human resources strategies, frameworks, policies and procedures to ensure the CSO’s ability to attract, retain, develop and manage a highly engaged and committed workforce through cultural transformation and the provision of strategic and operational HR services across each division. You will be responsible for:
 

  • Participating on the Executive Leadership Team and contributing to broader business activity and decision making 
  • Delivering the HR strategy through the leadership and management of a multi-disciplinary team of HR specialists and HR generalists
  • Ensuring strategy, programs and services are aligned to the organisation’s strategic business plans and delivered in a cost effective manner (this includes continuing to evolve and innovate HR functionality, navigating major government reform and managing organisational change whilst ensuring that both the Government’s and the CSO’s objectives are achieved).
  • Ensuring the CSO meets the required standards of probity and equity required of a government organisation, and ensuring robust risk mitigations around people and culture are in place to ensure sustainability of the CSO

 
As a lead HR Practitioner, you will drive organisational and cultural transformation and reinforce client service to ensure the provision of high quality and innovative legal services to CSO clients.

  
Supporting and driving culture change across CSO, the ideal candidate will hold leadership qualities and experience to be able to instil a culture of customer-centric service in HR and work to continuously improve services to meet CSO needs.
