Coordinator Waste Operations

$91,858 - $102,796 per annum (Band 7) 

A vacancy exists for a Coordinator of Waste Operations to work as part of Council's Waste Services team to assist in the management of the Waste Services Transfer Station, operations and Monash Pride.

The successful candidate will be responsible for effective coordination and leadership of Waste Services in relation to the operations of the Waste Transfer Station, Monash Pride and litter control operations, projects and service monitoring. The candidate will also provide a key support role to Waste Services program development and implementation.

Candidates will ideally have the following qualifications/skills:

•  Demonstrated skills in management of waste operations, including customer service and administration.

•  Highly developed level of written and oral communication.

•  Demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate and a commitment to quality service.

•  Sound analytical and conceptual skills and evidence of the ability to manage a variety of tasks.

•  Ability to think strategically and plan future service needs.

•  Sound budgeting and computer skills.

•  Sensitivity to community needs, encouraging a sense of pride and belonging and promoting a positive image of Council both in character and service provided.

•  Demonstrated experience in leading a team.

•  Experience with insurance, risk and OH & S regulations

•  Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, environmental science, waste works, a related discipline or substantial experience in a similar role.

•  Current Victorian driver's licence and Working with Children's Check essential.
