The Role

In response to continuing growth GHD is currently seeking a Chemical Engineer with over 8 years of experience in the water industry for our Brisbane team.

Working in our Water Process and Systems group, you will be involved with a wide variety of clients, industries and projects. You will be part of a team undertaking water and wastewater infrastructure projects ranging from strategic planning, options analysis and investigation studies through to detailed design and construction phase projects for government (municipal process) and private sector (industrial process) clients across Queensland and beyond.

GHD is adapting quickly and co-creating fresh ways of thinking to realise the immense growth opportunities that the digital era offers. Our Water Group is involved in the development of new digital service offerings and experience or interest in this field would be desirable.

 Key responsibilities:

•  Managing and delivering technical work autonomously and as part of a team, including investigation, analysis and design tasks to support water and wastewater treatment planning and design
• Supporting the development and growth of the organisational process design capability
• Contributing to multi-disciplinary teams delivering major infrastructure projects and providing water and wastewater treatment discipline related services
• Client liaison in relation to water and wastewater treatment services, including but not limited to enhancing and maintaining client relationships, winning work, staffing projects and staff development
• Preparation of proposals and contributing to market-led innovative offerings
• Managing time to efficiently achieve task and project objectives
• Delivering high quality technical solutions.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Small through to multidisciplinary project management and delivery experience within a consultancy environment or client organisation
• Demonstrated report writing and strong written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop other engineers and collaborate with other water and wastewater professionals to drive innovation and build organisational capability 
• Strong focus on quality and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated skills and experience in the planning and/or design of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure and associated works 
• A client focused attitude
• Engineering Degree (Chemical) or equivalent 
• Attained Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status or have satisfied the qualification and competency requirements to be eligible for registration.
