Mackay location, a long-established manufacturing company that design and manufacture Capital & Rotational Equipment & Large Material Handling solutions.  Employing thousands worldwide have a new position for a Mechanical Project Engineer within the Engineering team.
  
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will liaise with clients, external stakeholders and manage your own assignments from initial concept through to completion, overseeing drafts, producing designs, working closely with production and manufacturing tams all the way through to complete commissioning on site (no hands-on work just over seeing if required).  
  
  
Job:

• Lead and drive your allocated project from a technical standpoint
• Responsible for effective Mechanical Design and project analysis
• Develop, check and revise 3D CAD models of belts, pulleys, gears, cogs, conveyors, structural walkways
• Prepare reports and undertake supporting calculations for both mechanical and structural elements of designs
• Assist drafters in developing the design of products and assist with BOM’s and tender documents
• Project Management and coordination of large industrial equipment
• Drive new product development so that the client continues to be a leader within their market
• Develop and support the full product life-cycle from tender management to pricing, to quotes, to design and technical specification
• VA/VE, FEA Engineering  
• Attend site visits to central QLD mines twice a month to visit clients to help maintain and improve the performance of their products and to work closely with stakeholders
• Keep abreast of industry best practice and methodologies
• Work closely with other engineering departments to ensure projects are completed within allocated time and budgets
• Participate in Design, Manufacturing and Assembly review meetings
• Present to board members abroad
• Ensure all designs meet relevant global standards
• Manage BOMs

  
To be successful for this role:

• Degree educated project engineer
• Excellent 3 design capabilities
• Analytical and strong communication skills
• 2 years Project Engineering / Management experience
• Understanding of OH&S guidelines
• Excellent continuous improvement skills and new product development
