Reporting to the Manager-Electrical Engineering Services; The Rail Systems Engineer (Electrical Engineering) will be responsible for providing support on various transport projects as a Systems integrator. This position will manage and assist in SYSTRA Scott Lister’s AEO and scope expansion. The opportunity will provide you with a collaborative environment in which to work on complex projects and receive ongoing mentorship to learn, develop and apply your knowledge across the following areas:
The role:
- Provide expertise and support across our Rail Systems team (supported by a Senior Engineer) whilst working on client site and across a variety of projects.
- Assist in the development of new processes & procedures related to standard design practices and to the project’s requirements.
- Assist the Senior Engineer’s with the development of project related documents such as reports, collating of information to present to the team and provide overall project program support.
- Contribute to a number of engineering activities/tasks throughout the life cycle of the project, working across differing disciplines within the Rail Systems team.
Required experience & skills:
- Degree Qualified in an Engineering discipline, (Electrical, Signalling etc) and with a minimum of 1 year’s commercial experience within the Transport sector (ideally Rail.)
- A general understanding of contemporary project delivery, supporting processes and procedures.
- The ability to grasp new concepts and methodologies through active learning and project exposure.
- Able to demonstrate sound judgement and problem-solving capabilities relating to specific project requirements.
- Evident and competent interpersonal skills both written/verbal with an active passion for the Transport/Rail Systems/Engineering Sector.
