Arrowtech Australia is a labour hire company within the high-speed packaging machinery industry. We supply industrial trades people for manufacturing companies, and solutions for permanent staff or short term contract. The heart of our trades people we supply are fitters and electricians.

Arrowtech is looking for a qualified and experienced Electrician to join the team. We have a current position to fill for one of our leading clients within the paper manufacturing industry.

The position will provide broad Electrical support to the site, develop and maintain safety concepts, implement improvement strategies, overview the electrical aspects of equipment installation and ensure regular electrical maintenance is undertaken to keep machinery in good operating order.

The position is initially for a 6 month fixed term contract but with the potential of extension to the contract. If not, Arrowtech have always many position to fill at various client sites. 

This role requires you to:

• Support the electrical maintenance of the site plant and equipment, planned and breakdown maintenance and enabling maximum production levels to be sustained
• Problem solve and rectify issues with PLC’s, VSD’s, power distribution and programming associated with automation instrumentation etc
• Support change-overs to enable optimal machine uptime continuous improvement initiatives 
• Prepare specific documentation including work tickets, safe work statements, daily logs, site reports
• Liaise with all Production in order to ensure the quality of the process is maintained
• Provide guidance into safety, healthy and good environmental practices
•  Maintain an appropriate level of consumable and maintenance spares

Key requirements include:

• Qualified Electrician with Electrotechnology experience in production machinery
• Strong understanding of electrical preventive and breakdown maintenance
•  Have a hands on approach and able to work autonomously
• Strong track record of using electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults 
•  Committed to continuous improvement
• Experience with PLC, VSD, Power Distribution and Instrumentation
• Able to create, read and interpret electrical drawings
• Examining blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation 
• Repairing and replacing faulty wiring and defective parts
• Experience in design and implementation of electrical projects in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety
•  Previous experience in an automated establishment would be highly desired
