THE OPPORTUNITY

Ampcontrol Capital Projects offers customised solutions in the supply of medium, high and extra high voltage projects to the heavy industry, utilities, mining and mineral processing sectors. Ampcontrol is currently seeking to add a Civil or Structural Engineer to complement our team of industry experts.

This role provides for the preparation and supervision of civil and structural engineering designs and investigations across a broad range of infrastructure projects. It will include external contract management, management of internal design projects and preparation of contract documentation for design projects.

The role's main objective is to develop conceptual and design solutions for the civil and/or structural arm of engineering projects using analytical techniques. Projects will be a variety of bulk earthworks, roads works, stormwater drainage, sewer and water reticulation, sediment and erosion control and other miscellaneous civil works. It involves travel to other Ampcontrol sites on a regular basis.

Specifically, you will be required to:

• Provide technical information concerning the civil and/orstructural engineering process
• Act as customer liaison for complex or sensitive issues and technical matters
• Ensure that all civil and structural engineering undertaken by team members is in line with, AS/NZ standards, contracted specifications, Ampcontrol standards, procedures and processes
• Engage with key stakeholders to ensure products and systems provided by the team meet or exceed customer expectations
• Monitor, analyse and support the quality of work from all team members to ensure a high standard engineering output is achieved within budgetary and technical parameters

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

This role will require a unique mix of skills and attitudes in order to succeed:

• Bachelor of Civil and/or Structural Engineering
• Ability to develop design solutions in accordance with council standards/BCA
• Strong project management capabilities including staff and resource management
• Commitment to and genuine interest in the provision of excellence in client service
• Competency in the Microsoft Office applications

Ideally, you will also have some experience and knowledge in structural engineering.
