Be a part of a Division that supports the Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) work through sustainment and upgrades to Australia's Wedgetail fleet.
BDA is growing and as a result are looking for a Certification Engineer to be based in Brisbane.
The Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) division of Boeing Defence Australia provides specialist design and sustainment services in support of the Australian Wedgetail aircraft and the International fleet. Working within the ISR division provides a unique opportunity to deliver major modifications and upgrades of the fleet rarely encountered in the Australian defence and aviation industry. The ISR Systems Engineering Integration Team (SEIT) is currently seeking a Certification engineer to support execution of certification activities to ensure successful sell off of regulatory requirements for In-service support upgrades to the Wedgetail aircraft. As the senior Certification engineer you will have 6 to 10 years previous experience performing certification work pertaining to minor/major repairs/changes on either military or civilian platforms, knowledge of processes involved with the development of certification basis, experience performing classification of changes and experience performing verification activities. Additionally it would be highly desirable if you have held delegations from FAA, EASA, CASA or other National Airworthiness Authorities (NAA) for verification of design (i.e. Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) from EASA or Authorized Representative (AR) for FAA), or experience performing retrofit / modification of part 25 aircraft to fit radar or Sat-com antennas.
As a senior engineer in our team you would be expected to mentor and provide guidance to less experienced team members, and encourage the culture of knowledge sharing.
To be successful you will have:
- Tertiary degree qualifications in relevant technical discipline and 7+ years certification engineering experience, or equivalent and adequate experience in industry.
- Demonstrated experience in a complex engineering environment.
- Excellent communication skills that enable the applicant to influence outcomes across the organisation.
- Ability to obtain CPEng / RPEQ status
- Experience within an Aerospace or Defence environment highly regarded.
- Experience with RF Communication Systems design highly regarded.
