Cardno's Northern NSW team is seeking a skilled structural engineer to join our Newcastle / Gosford office to provide accurate and efficient engineering services.

Cardno is currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Buildings division. The primary focus of this role will be to providing accurate and efficient design and engineering services. This position has capacity to work in either the Newcastle or Gosford Office and is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to join a progressive global organisation with a great team culture.

You will be reporting to the Business Unit Manager and working closely with other key senior stakeholders throughout the APAC region on a wide range of exciting infrastructure projects.

Specifically, your duties will include:

• Participation in project delivery and ensuring work output is of a high technical standard;
• Development of plans, estimates, specifications, calculations and planning layouts;
• Preparation of work plans and resource schedules for projects;
• Project Management and guidance to junior level staff
• Client liaison and clear communication with internal staff members to maintain project deadlines

In order to be successful for this role you will possess:

• Tertiary qualifications or suitable industry experience;
• Demonstrated 5-10+ years of experience, ideally within a structural engineering consulting environment;
• Familiarity with local authority and state government approval and regulatory requirements;
• Verbal, written and multimedia communication skills to liaise with the team, senior management and external stakeholders to produce commercial, client focused outcomes;
• A commitment to quality and accuracy (attention to detail);
• An enthusiasm and drive to contribute to the growth and development of the business, the team and yourself.
