Two challenging and rewarding Engineering Manager opportunities are being offered at our client’s diverse agricultural and food manufacturing operations located in Papua New Guinea. One position focuses on the Mechanical maintenance aspects of their operations and the other position covers the Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance aspects. The major focus of both positions is to optimise plant and equipment reliability and availability and deliver an extensive plant maintenance and upgrading program for a number of separate operations.
Both positions report directly to the Operations Manager and have leadership responsibility for significant size workforces which incorporate small teams of engineers and supervisors. Key responsibilities for both positions include providing key technical advice and support, developing and monitoring maintenance and capital project budgets as well as driving improvements to maintenance and safety culture and practises. Additional responsibilities for the Mechanical Engineering Manager includes overseeing the operation of a central machining and fabrication workshop and for the Electrical Engineering Manager it includes being responsible for the distribution of electricity to a company owned township.
Key Position Requirements:
- Proven skills and experience with being responsible for the maintenance, reliability and capital project requirements of a manufacturing or similar operation
- Highly developed technical knowledge and skills including the ability to lead/facilitate investigations into plant failures and provide technical advice and support to team members
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement improvements to maintenance and safety processes and practises
- Proven leadership and people management skills including the ability to effectively coach, mentor and performance manage team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to develop and monitor maintenance and capital project budgets
- Proficient in the use of programs from the Microsoft Office Suite and in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Tertiary qualifications in the Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering fields
