This key leadership position manages the strategic development and end to end program delivery of the Jetstar Airways Fuel Efficiency Program.  This program and operational fuel efficiency overall is a key component of the success of the JANZ business, with fuel being the highest COGs commodity within the operation of the business.

The main accountabilities will include:
•    Opportunity generation, Stream Lead and Program Manager for the Jetstar Airways Operations Fuel Efficiency Program
•    Chair for the Fuel Efficiency Working Group and Steering Committee meetings.
•    End to end Project Management of the initiatives in the Fuel Efficiency Program including
•    Identification & research of new initiatives, opportunities, and technologies across the aviation industry that support the organizations’ Fuel efficiency aspirations and targets
•    Development and presentation of opportunity business cases to garner support for implementation and to secure resource and capital investment for delivery where required
•    Benchmarking of the JANZ Fuel Efficiency project performance externally and within the QANTAS Group of airlines
•    Development of the opportunity pipeline of initiatives and fuel utilisation reduction targets for each financial year. 
•    Delivery of the project streams of work against the budgeted fuel utilization and carbon emission reduction targets. 
•    Sharing of best practice and opportunities across the Qantas Group facilitating the capture of enhance benefits
•    Facilitation of the Change Management Committee process including stakeholder risk assessment meetings, training needs analysis, communications plan and consultation with Senior Management.
•    Management of relationships with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, other airlines, airports and Jetstar operational staff. 
•    Tracking benefit savings profiles and report monthly to Jetstar Operations Leadership,  Finance, QANTAS Group Fuel and various Fuel Steering Committees. 
•    Represent Jetstar at QANTAS Group Fuel forums and committees and the annual Fuel Efficiency forums. 
•    Co-development of Fuel efficiency related communications and education materials to enhance group understanding, uptake and success of implemented initiatives and the program as a whole.
•    This role requires leadership and management of a team of 3 direct reports and up to 10 indirect reports to support the execution of projects.

Key criteria include:
•    Strong capabilities and experience in program and project management 
•    Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills 
•    The ability to generate and rapidly validate opportunities so that implantation and benefits capture can be achieved in a timely fashion
•    The successful candidate will require strong operational knowledge and technical expertise and ideally management experiences in at least one of the related fuel efficiency areas (Aerodynamic performance, Flight planning, operational efficiency or aviation engineering). 
•    They will be able to present as a credible influence for the Fuel Efficiency program and the Jetstar Airways businesses longer term vision. This will be achieved through an understanding of the Jetstar Airways business strategic pillars and alignment with the brand values and low cost operating model.
