About the role
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide technical engineering support for the maintenance teams at Hail Creek Mine. The successful candidate will assist the teams to achieve safe and consistent performance of our assets to meet and exceed the site’s annual operating plan, while maintaining compliance with legislative requirements.
This role is a great opportunity for an experienced Engineer, ready to take on the challenge of working within a large open cut coal mining fleet and associated infrastructure. Reporting to the Engineering & Planning Superintendent, you will be responsible for:
- Reliability engineering activities, such as RCM, FMEA/FMECA, RCA, reliability block modelling, Pareto, and other statistical analysis techniques
- Capital improvement projects within your engineering discipline, from the identification of projects, through to budgeting, detailed planning, and to execution.
- Leading the defect elimination process within the applicable assigned fleet of equipment;
- Conducting regular reviews of asset strategies and tactics
- Reviewing condition monitoring reports, as required, to provide expert engineering recommendations
- Strengthening our condition-based maintenance strategies, through the introduction of new condition monitoring technologies and tactics
- Coaching and mentoring Engineering Officers
- Generally, providing an engineering support service to the site.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you should have:
- A relevant degree in Electrical Engineering
- Ideally, have achieved Chartered status with Engineers Australia and are an RPEQ
- Several years of experience in a similar engineering role, ideally in mining or mineral processing
- An in-depth understanding of maintenance, including the work management process, defect elimination process, and SAP MPA governance
- An understanding of budget reporting and cost control measures
- Knowledge of relevant mining legislation and industry practices
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Post-graduate qualifications in maintenance management or reliability engineering
- Experience in other heavy industry, aside from mining, will also be highly regarded
- Ideally, the qualification to exercise the statutory function of Electrical Engineering Manager under the Qld Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulation 2017
