Your role
The Technical Officer - Land Systems, shall be responsible for testing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading a wide range of electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment primarily associated with the C-RAM and GBAD ISS projects.

Some of the key responsibilities include but will not be limited to:

  • Technical support of GIRAFFE AMB, AN/TPQ-49 Lightweight Counter-Mortar Radar, RBS-70 Air Defence System and GIRAFFE Training System, including repairs, maintenance, upgrades and training
  • Assume supporting role to the C-RAM STO and Melbourne SEM in off-site activities
  • Support the C-RAM and TaCCS Support Services and ILS Managers in the development of ISS deliverables
  • Provide technical support to Capture/Bid Managers during development of proposals and papers for prospects
  • Support test, acceptance and set to work of associated software and hardware
  • Prepare opening documentation, including Job Safety Environmental Analysis Plans that identify and mitigate hazards and risks
  • Produce and/or validate technical documentation including test procedures, test reports and closing reports


Your skills and experience
To be effective in this role you will possess:

  • Formal qualifications such as an Advanced Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering (or related discipline) or relevant experience in the following areas
    • Circuit and wiring fault finding in PC and industrial computing bus systems
    • Diagnosis and repair of circuit card assemblies to component level
    • Repair and maintenance of radar equipment
  • Recent and extensive maintainer experience with surface radar and GBAD mission systems
  • Qualifications and/or experience in training and instruction
  • Experience in various computer operating systems, including Windows and LINUX

You must also be an Australia Citizen and able to meet eligibility requirements for a Defence Security Clearance.
