Design Engineer

The Australian business is undergoing a period of exponential growth, following a run of successful PPP, D&C and EPC and O&M tenders in the major transport, renewable energy and building sectors. Bouygues is delivering the NorthConnex, Melbourne Metro and WestConnex projects and a number of large scale Solar Farms across Australia, and has recently acquired a building company to deepen its building capability in the market.
 
Working under the Engineering Manager the responsibilities for this role include:

• Provide solutions to  site issues at Design and Construction phase, in consultation with the Design and Construction team;
• Deliver high quality designs and liaise with design agency
• Active participation in the identification, review, assessment of risks and the implementation of controls
• Management of stakeholder involved in the design review process (internal work groups, business support services, regulatory/statutory)
• Financial management (including cost tracking, forecasting and reporting on engineering services)
• Deliver in accordance with Project Management Plan, Safety Management Plan and Systems Assurance Plan
• Manage engineering sub consultants, perform technical reviews of their design outputs, and administer services as per the contract
• Drive Value Engineering at all phases of the project

 Key Skills, Experience, & Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering degree
• Graduate level up to 5 Years Design or Design Management experience
• Experience or exposure to tunnel/linear project is a plus
• Understanding of the design process
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong reporting and communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• The drive and passion to succeed
