MSP Engineering is a highly successful and expanding EPC provider specialising in resource development, including project studies, process design, engineering design, procurement, project management, construction, commissioning, and ongoing operational support of mineral processing facilities and associated infrastructure.

We seek applications from people who are inspired by this opportunity and interested in working in a Quantity Surveyor position on site, based in Kwinana.

The role:

Contracts management activities including, but not limited to:

  • Supporting the effective administration of subcontracts
  • Overseeing change management 
  • Assisting and advising on scope and quantities included in contracts, and evaluation and resolution of contractors' claims
  • Assisting in negotiations for approval of variation/EOT claims
  • Helping in the preparation of sub-contract and supply agreements

Cost control and reporting activities including, but not limited to:

  • Assisting the projects in producing financial project reports
  • Proactive analyses and supporting in cost control initiatives
  • Reviewing and interpreting all financial information and making recommendations for adjustments 
  • Involved in monthly project review and analysis process
  • Ensuring all project invoices are paid and settled in a timely fashion, including investigating and resolving any project invoice disputes
  • Help prepare monthly cashflow forecasts

What are we looking for?

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent with sound understanding of construction principles.
  • Experience in mining and minerals or oil and gas industry is essential
  • Extensive practice in managing contracts within both EPC and EPCM environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the negotiation and management of commercial contracts
  • Proven financial management and budgeting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate, influence and develop strong relationships.
  • Skilled in responding to changing priorities in fast-paced project delivery environment, in a positive manner, with excellent time management skills.

The position is available for immediate start for the appropriate candidate and engaged on a maximum term contract.
