Next is an award winning builder providing services in new construction, fitout and refurbishment across all sectors of the property industry and has achieved sustained growth since establishment in 2007.

We are passionate about making our clients’ plans a reality and we put them at the centre of everything we do. We are looking for a motivated Estimator who shares this same passion for our clients to join our team.

Your Role

In your role as the Estimator you will contribute to Next’s growth plans by strategically tendering and acquiring projects across fit-out and new build projects.

• Take ownership of the tender from receipt of tender documents to submission of tender. This involves briefing the necessary internal stakeholders on the project and tender requirements and co-ordinating their input to deliver a quality tender submission.
• Meet with Next Business Development Manager and /or client and conduct a full review of tender documents to ensure there is a clear understanding and agreement on the project requirements.
• Brief sub-contractors and suppliers on project requirements and liaise on an ongoing basis to ensure accurate pricing.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors to ensure an up to date database of preferred subcontractors and competitive pricing.
• Organise tender strategy meetings with PM and /or CM and all other relevant internal stakeholders to ensure project team understand project requirements and the company strategy for winning the tender.
• Present tender appraisal for management review to show due diligence and ensure an accurate and competitive tender is being submitted.
• Regularly communicate and liaise with the client ensuring a strong relationship is created, developing future work for Next. This includes the preparation of cost plans to assess the feasibility of the project within the client’s budget as well as post tender debriefings to gain feedback on the tender so the Estimating team can continuously improve the tender process and submission.

Your Experience

• Previous onsite experience as a Project, Site Manager or tradesperson
• Extensive recent experience in estimating a variety of new construction, refurbishment & fitout projects.
• Led successful and profitable tenders in the past and are looking for the opportunity to step up into a senior role once established.
• Run multiple tenders ranging from from $1 million to $60 million for refurbishment, fitout & construction projects.
• Buildsoft and Cubit experience is desirable but not critical
