Opportunity:

We currently have an opportunity for an Estimator to join our construction team in Port Melbourne. Reporting to the General Manager, in this position you will be working closely with Business Development team pricing and assisting with proposals and tender submissions in order to secure new business opportunities.

As a successful applicant, you will assist the Estimating team to:

• Provide quantity take-offs of commercial/industrial mixed-use projects.
• Providing estimate preparation plans and schedules to management.
• Develop and prepare conceptual estimates with minimal subcontractor. assistance using limited preliminary design documents/information.
• Creation of scope of works as required for tenders.
• Manage the tender estimating and cost planning processes for allocated tenders together with the Procurement manager.
• Thoroughly reviewing tender documentation to develop accurate cost plan.
• Issuing trade packages to sub-contractors and ensuring trade quotes are received.
• Reviewing & analysing sub-contractor quotes and negotiate to obtain best prices.

To be successful you must meet the following requirements:

• 3 - 4 years exposure to the Victorian commercial/industrial space in an estimating role.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in a construction related field.
• Demonstrated ability to provide accurate takeoffs and measurements.
• Exposure to commercial/industrial projects to the value of $30 mil.
• Standard knowledge of Commercial building, including D&C projects.
• Excellent skills in understanding complex commercial building specifications.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Eye for detail with take-offs etc.
• Ability to interpret drawings.
• Experience using Excel and a quick learner with computer systems.
