THE OPPORTUNITY

An opportunity exists to support the company's expansion plans and the commitment to develop a market leading concrete scanning division.

We are often required to scan concrete prior to cutting to locate and identify structural steel configuration and or any services that might be concealed within the concrete structure.

We have experienced an increase in demand for this service as the building & construction industry recognises the significance of the information that is critical to reduce the risk of structural or in-slab services damage.

We are seeking to recruit either an experienced professional or a trainee to support our ambitious growth plans. We have invested in market leading Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electromagnetic Locator (EML) equipment from GGSI, Mala and Radiodetection.

THE JOB ROLE

Normal scope of works will include managing a daily work schedule and attending various customer sites.  You will be responsible for carrying out concrete scanning requirements as per site instructions and the production of electronic reports with results for each job.

You will be provided with a fully equiped company vehicle to carry out a full range of concrete scanning services.  Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assess customer requirements and advise on services available
  • Assist with preparation and submission of formal quotations where necessary
  • Complete all relevant OHSE documentation where required
  • Carry out comprehensive concrete scanning works as per site instructions
  • Production of detailed electronic reports and submission to customer for approval
  • Project management and service delivery for major contracts
  • Liaison with other Group operating divisions
  • Provide management with regular feedback and continual improvement ideas
  • Research & development of concrete scanning service opportunities

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum of  6 months - 2 years experience with the use of GPR concrete scanning equipment including GSSI or MALA
  • Experience with the use of Radiodetection or similar pipe and cable locating equipment desirable
  • White card and other associated building & construction qualifications

THE PERSON

Candidates must be reliable, honest, hardworking, keen to learn and above all possess a positive attitude.

It would be highly beneficial for the ideal candidate to have advanced level knowledge of various GPR concrete scanning equipment however training will be provided for the successful applicant if required.

You must be able to communicate effectively, operate with a sense of ownership, be responsible for delivering exceptional service levels and manage onsite customer relationships.  The ideal candidate will also be able to assist with identifying new business opportunities and support the sales and marketing programme.
