Construction Supervisor – Springvale

Duties and Responsibilities

Currently we are looking for a skilled Roofing Supervisor to join our Melbourne Construction service team to support the delivery of CSR Monier's construction standards.

Based at Springvale VIC and reporting into the Contracting Manager this is an extremely fast paced, varied and rewarding role where you will be required to demonstrate professional knowledge of roof construction; managing subcontracting teams and delivering excellent service standards. Working alongside 5 other construction supervisors you will manage a portfolio of suburbs in the Melbourne metro region.

Key selection criteria for this role will include the ability to:

• Maintain a friendly and efficient working relationship with builders, supervisors, sub-contractors and work colleagues, to ensure installation jobs are completed safely and within given timeframes.
• Must have strong customer satisfaction focus at the same time comfortable in conflict resolution.
• Effectively communicate with various internal departments- Sales, Logistics, Factory etc.
• Oversee, organise, prioritise and manage subcontractors.
• Conduct regular safety audits and compliance tests of Monier subcontractors.
• Commit to and apply both CSR and statutory requirements for safety, health and environment.
• Resolve business issues and customer concerns in a timely and effective manner.
• Qualifications/background in building/construction industry.
• Demonstrate PC literacy, numeracy and good verbal and written communication skills. 

Skills & Experience

In order to be considered for this role you will have a background in construction, a solid understanding of the residential construction industry and an ability to work in a fast paced environment.

You will also be able to demonstrate;

• Previous supervisory experience within the construction industry
• A trade background in roofing, scaffolding or roof plumbing will be advantageous
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage high activity and to drive teams forward
• Excellent communication skills both verbal & written and an eye for detail
• A passion for providing a safe working environment
• Basic / intermediate PC skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook etc.

The successful candidate will be someone who is able to work effectively as part of team, communicate at all levels and engage customers and contractors.
