Job description

Fredon is a leading supplier of communications, electrical, data, audio visual and HVAC services to government, large corporations and the industrial and construction sectors.

An opportunity exists for an Estimator to join the newly established High Voltage electrical division that is based in Sydney. The role will be accountable for managing the delivery of tenders and provide expert advice on the evaluation of tenders, whilst ensuring that all competitive prices, new techniques and cost trends are monitored effectively. We're seeking a subject-matter-expert who can demonstrate a high level of initiative and drive, while continuously seeking ways to improve the company's competitive edge.

Your attributes:

•             Preferably degree qualified in electrical engineering or equivalent knowledge from an electrical trade background.

•             5 + years' experience gained within an electrical contracting environment as an Estimator.

•             Experience with providing estimation of various electrical projects of varying size.

•             Knowledge and experience of estimating, project management, plant/equipment management, contract law, marketing and client liaison.

•             Familiarity with electrical engineering disciplines and experience with a variety of forms of contract including partnering and joint ventures.

•             Commercial skills and understanding of financial administration and project costing.

•             Demonstrated ability in proactively building strong relationships with key stakeholders / team members.

•             Interpretation and application of technical / contractual conditions and company policies and procedures.

•             Ability to contribute to the development of financial budgets and business planning process.

•             Experience in researching and understanding complex information to develop and implement structured tender solutions.

•             Proven ability to negotiate and influence business solutions.

•             Experience with the Estimating Package 'Conest" is desirable

•             Experience in estimation of projects with scope that includes .

• ASP Level 1
• NSW private HV networks  
• HV – Switchboards
• Transformers
• HV cabling
• Duct lines
• Rail – Traction and Network Power
