What's the opportunity?

We are currently searching for an experienced Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our Project Controls team in Perth and provide real-time estimating support across the Sunrise Project. The role will be involved in tracking divergence from the DFS estimate, as well as, aiding and overseeing the development of the Definitive Estimate whilst ensuring alignment with Clean TeQ’s schedule and Cost functions.        

Long term contract opportunity initially with view of permanency if you are prepared to relocate to the project in NSW. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Review and ensure concise Change Management of the DFS estimate during FEED in addition to ensuring aligned definition of the DFS BoE.
• Oversee, contribute and analyse the production of the Definitive Estimate and associated BoE by Consultants
• Preparation of key study documents to support the preparation of internal cost estimates
• Review of external cost estimates
• Evaluation of materials handling alternatives
• Performing reviews of consolidated scope packages for each alternative
• Review external scope packages deliverables – capital and operating estimates including basis documentation
• Consolidation of internal and external scopes into integrated capital and operating estimates including basis documentation for each alternative
• Review of value opportunities (check of associated costs) and finalisation of all key deliverables for the preferred investment alternative
• Owner’s review and evaluation of consultant estimate submissions
• Provide technical input for the development of new projects;
• Assist with the preparation of estimates by investigating, interrogating and optimising mine development plans and methodologies;
• Provide technical support during to tender negotiations with contractors;
• Assist in the development of capital and operational budgets and forecasts;
• Identify project risks
• Provide technical support to the Project Controls Manager

What can you bring to the role?

• Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying / Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering
• Extensive experience on multidisciplinary mega projects ($>1billon) in either the mining or oil and gas sectors
• Proven track record of mega projects and multidisciplinary estimation
• Ability to apply academic knowledge and concepts to practical situations
• Able to operate effectively in a team, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships
• Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
