Roads and Maritime is part of a new integrated transport authority led by Transport for NSW (TfNSW) that aims to create a better transport system, one that is fundamentally designed around the needs and expectations of customers, communities and the economy. This role will help drive the delivery of major motorway projects as part of the NSW Government's $73 billion infrastructure program to ease congestion, connect communities and reduce the number of heavy vehicles on local streets.
The Program Director Motorways Delivery leads multiple Project teams to ensure the delivery of multi-billion dollar complex motorway projects to time, cost and quality requirements. Additionally, you will also provide strategic guidance resolution to complex project issues and challenges with interfacing motorways and supporting Federal and State Governments' targets for infrastructure development. The Program Director Motorways Delivery will need to:
- Work in close collaboration with the Chief Executive, Motorways Program and Project Directors, Sydney Motorway Corporation (SMC)
- Manage the integration between the other divisions and key work streams to support effective collaboration and decision making and ensure that Sydney Motorway Corporation delivers to Roads and Maritime an innovative and workable transport solution for the NSW Government and the people of NSW
- Manage interfaces with the appropriate Ministers and their offices to ensure timely and appropriate escalation and communication of program milestones and challenges
- Lead a range of project elements associated with engineering and construction works and ensuring flexibility in project staging to ensure customer journeys are not adversely impacted during project delivery
Essential requirements
- Experience in all stages of a complex road infrastructure project life-cycle, particularly project development, D&C and PPP procurement, delivery and completion processes and handover to operations.
- Ability to understand high level technical and commercial issues.
- Understanding of infrastructure financing models and structures.
- Relationship skills to deal with complexity and ambiguity and able to deal with multiple stakeholders in a time pressured environment.
