Reporting to the NSW General Manager – Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ), you will ensure delivery and operation of the Business Management System to ensure Veolia fulfil its duty of care as well as partner with operational managers and stakeholders facilitating the continual improvement of Veolia's SHEQ performance through effective leadership and support.

This role leads cultural change through engagement and continuous improvement with Safety, Health, Environment and Quality across the Veolia sites based in NSW.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Implement and maintain Veolia Business Management System consistent with the SHEQ risk profile
• Identify opportunities to improve and act as a key point of contact for the Veolia business management system to influence operational managers and stakeholders to continuously improve SHEQ performance.
• Contribute to the SHEQ team and wider Veolia business by being flexible in work location and subject matter to provide superior service and optimal SHEQ outcomes across the business.
• Execute and support the business with the injury management system ensuring all stakeholders understand their responsibilities.
• Lead and ensure compliance to all the requirements of the incident management process including early reporting, investigation, serious incident reviews and SHEQ Alerts in accordance with Veolia guidelines and WorkCover Self Insurer requirements.
• Lead and participate in all SHEQ assurance activities including external and internal audits, workplace inspections, incident management and safe interactions.
• Monitor changes or developments in the relevant Federal and NSW legislation, regulations and standards and implement initiatives to address any legislative changes in consultation with the NSW SHEQ Team
   

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety, and/or Environmental Discipline and equivalent workplace experience
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in heavy industrial and/or manufacturing industries.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of the safety, environment and quality ISO standards.
• High level communication skills (Written & Verbal)
• Effective interpersonal skills, including ability to clarify, influence, build rapport, resolve issues and make decisions
• Ability to establish and maintain ongoing effective relationships through a strong commitment to stakeholder management
