We are currently recruiting for a number of Project Directors for our client, a NSW Government department, on an initial 12 month contract (with strong possibility of extension) to be based in their new offices in Sydney CBD. The Department has a strong and stable culture and attractive daily rates are offered to the right candidate.
The Role:
The Project Director will manage and direct the project team through project governance and formation to deliver major capital works outcomes.
Key accountabilities
• Lead and manage people, provide mentoring and guidance to ensure personal and organisational development objectives are achieved
• Evaluate the progress and performance of designated Major Works (>$20m) projects
• Manage project delivery interfaces with contract management service providers,
• Manage and oversee the forward works project procurement including engaging consultants and contractors
Selection criteria
• Relevant tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in Construction, Engineering is essential
• Extensive, successful project/program management of construction projects to a value of more than $20 million. Experience of managing construction projects in excess of $100m would be highly desirable
• Client Side Project Management experience and ability to be able to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders is essential.
• Proven experience of delivery projects of longer duration, typically up to 3 years, with clear objectives, potential for conflict and a number of influential key stakeholders.
• Strong leadership to small teams and has demonstrated experience to achieve outcomes by providing constructive feedback to others around their performance, strengths and development needs.
• Current driver’s licence.
