About the Role:
MPC Group, in a joint venture with John Holland and TRILITY has been awarded a contract by Water NSW to design and construct the 270km River Murray to Broken Hill Pipeline. We are now seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Broken Hill Team. This position will be site based FIFO role, working a 21/7 roster. The site Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for assisting the Regional Quantity Surveyor in the effective management of the commercial, quality and administrative activities on the Project.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in post tender bid evaluations and assist in procurement, including input into supply and subcontract agreements.
- Assist monthly progress claims for work completed by subcontracts / suppliers.
- Assist in the collation of information to produce progress certificates for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assist in monthly cost reporting and forecasting.
- Assist weekly/monthly contract progress reports.
- Assist management of the Project’s progress monitoring systems.
- Assist in the maintenance of accurate Budget Reallocation Registers.
- Assist in the maintenance of an accurate Subcontractor’s Progress Register.
- Assist in the maintenance of an accurate Subcontractor’s Instruction Register.
- Assist in the maintenance of and evaluate Subcontractor / client Variations.
- Assess all cost coding and Budget expenditure for Purchase Order Requisitions.
- Assist in the assessment of monthly Site Ledger evaluation for potential journals.
- Assist in the submittal of Variation Proposals to Client.
- Assist in the submittal of Adjustment Proposals to the Client.
- Assist in the maintenance of registers for Variations and Adjustments.
- Assist in the maintenance of Correspondence Registers to and From the Client.
- Assist in the maintenance of Correspondence Registers to and from Subcontractors.
About You:
The person we are looking for will need to be self-motivated and be able to show initiative. Relevant Tertiary Qualification in either Engineering; Construction; Quantity Surveying or other relevant qualifications, will be required and while experience is preferred, it is not necessary. What you will need to have is
- Clear and definitive communication skills both written and verbal.
- Good understanding of the construction process.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and all relevant in-house software.
- Display great drive and job focus
- Ability to work 21/7 roster
