We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Safety Officer/WHS Advisor who has worked directly on commercial projects for a project in Wollongong .
You will need to have a proven record in a similar role (min 2yrs) along with the ability to assist in the implementation of company systems, policies and procedures and in addition, be able to develop and maintain relationships with the team to achieve the best safety outcomes as possible. You will also need to have a practical working understanding of current WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and relevant Safety Standards and Regulatory Guidance Material.
As a Safety Officer/WHS Advisor you will be responsible for the following (but not limited too):
- Promoting our positive safety culture and initiatives at all times
- Implement and maintain Management Plans on a construction project
- To coordinate and manage many routine safety related tasks
- Provide advice and technical support to onsite team
- Carry out internal investigations in timely manner
- Maintain safety documentation and prepare for Audits
- Share learning's with the broader business in regard to Safety Management
- Deliver site inductions, provide first aid, and assist in consultation processes
- Coordinate site safety inspections and close out diligently.
Skills, Experience and other Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS or equivalent
- Construction experience in a similar role is non-negotiable
- Strong working knowledge of construction processes
- Articulate and professional communication skills
- Energy, enthusiasm and passion to be part of a great family team
