About the role:

As the Product Specialist you will support the sales team to manage the sales mix for Metcash to achieve budgeted sales. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities as well as grow our current customer base. You will ideally come from an outbound call centre environment and have experience with volume. It is an excellent opportunity to further develop your passion for sales and customer service within a leading national FMCG company.

What you’ll be doing:

• Support the Regional Sales Managers to maximise basket size and grow sales
• Works closely with existing customers providing guidance on pricing, products and delivery
• Action the pipeline of leads and opportunities within company database
• Maximise all opportunities to upsell to customers in all inbound and outbound calls
• Maintain Company Data Base to ensure accurate records of discussions are kept
• Update and Maintain a set call cycle
• Undertake sales initiatives and ad hoc volume driving opportunities
• Participate in welcome call activity with a view to get customers ordering ASAP
• Participate in contacting lapsed customers, with a view to try win them back
• Record and maintain feedback and data appropriately as per manager’s requirements

What you’ll bring:

• Previous outbound telesales or sales experience
• A self-starter who has a demonstrated ability to work Autonomously as well as in a team
• A customer relations enthusiast who can provide exemplary service levels when liaising with existing and potential customers
• Passionate and driven to service the needs of our customers
• A natural communicator with a demonstrated ability to build relationships both internal and external
• Intermediate to strong Microsoft Office skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and exceed sales targets
