About the role

Our Customer Service Officers provide friendly, prompt and accurate services to our retail customers. This includes responding to a range of call types, including queries, complaint resolution, enquiries, claims and orders. We are interested in hearing from candidates who have previous call centre experience, who will actively work to improve customer satisfaction levels.

What you’ll be doing:

This is an important role supporting the Australian Liquors Marketers (ALM) business. We are seeking someone who has a great deal of passion for providing exceptional customer service and can prioritise in a volume driven environment.  Your responsibilities will include:

  • Answering all inbound call types in accordance with the Customer Service Quality Assurance Program.
  • Accurately input all orders (both supplier and customers) ensuring optimum service levels
  • 100% accuracy required in data entry, covering order, claims and administration
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to optimise service and sales opportunities ensuring a total supply solution.
  • Work on new initiatives as required by the Customer Service Team leaders
  • Adhering to Metcash policies and procedures and core values of the company are up held at every interaction.
  • Maintain a professional attitude, appearance and behaviour at all times and complying with company standards.
  • Resolving all conflict to achieve a “Win Win” solution by balancing the needs of the customer and the needs of the business.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments and work as part of team autonomously
  • Ability to work flexible span of hours commencing at 7am – 7pm Monday to Friday a public holidays.

What you’ll bring:

  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible days/hours (typically ranging between 6am to 7pm Monday- Friday, with occasional Saturdays or public holidays as required
  • Previous experience in a call centre customer service position, preferably in a distribution or FMCG environment
  • Proven commitment to exceptional customer service and team work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving ability and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to listen attentively and demonstrate patience with customers. Intermediate excel skills to include formatting & formulas
  • Intermediate MS Office skills – particularly Excel (formulas and formatting)
