Purpose of the role

The purpose of the role is to support the Transaction Strategy Managers in the delivery of both state based and national transactions and growth initiatives that involve financial advisory practice M&A activity.

Main focus areas

• AMP standalone advice site assessment support.  This includes but is not limited to financial modelling,  business systems and process review,  contractual obligation review and staff assessment.
• Develop project plans for the stand alone site
• Develop client engagement and handover plan
• Responsible for the team pipeline and strategic initiative reporting
• Support the Licensee PMs and field staff to execute practice M&A transactions
• Ensure AMP’s governance and risk management framework is applied during each transaction
• Manage the transaction file handover with Transaction Integration
• Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders
• Contribute to specific projects and strategic initiatives

Role specific capabilities

• The ability to multi-task and project manage
• Ability to interpret and analyse financial and business data to diagnose issues, trends and problems.
• High level of self-confidence with considerable drive, energy and a sense of urgency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with people at different levels and with contrasting levels of technical knowledge and skills.
• Knowledge and appreciation of Financial Planner business processes and practices.
• A team player who can effectively manage upwards and laterally to ensure that decisions and actions are taken at appropriate levels

Experience required

• More than 3 years working in the financial planning industry
• General knowledge of financial planning businesses
• General knowledge of Financial Services Licensee obligations

Qualification/s required Graduate in finance or business related discipline
