Purpose of the role

The purpose of this role is to provide quality, compliant and timely Paraplanning services to our customers.

Main focus areas

• Prepare high quality and compliant Statements of Advice and other advice documents on behalf of AMPFP, Charter, Hillross and/or AMP Advice planners.
• Work constructively with planners to develop the most appropriate strategy for individual clients.
• Meet individual productivity and service targets.
• Participate as an effective and motivated member of the team.
• Allocation of work to internal and external paraplanners.
• Attend work flow meetings and actively contribute to work flow management and improvements.
• Contribute to the education of the team regarding updates on product, policy and legislative changes via both informal and formal presentations and through the use of emails.
• Completion of quality checks and providing feedback.
• Identification and escalation of systemic and non-systemic advice risks as per internal procedures.
• Additional ad-hoc tasks and projects as requested by the Paraplanning Manager.
• Perform the responsibilities and duties of the Lead Paraplanner and/or Paraplanning Manager in their absence.

Role specific capabilities

• Experience in the preparation of basic and comprehensive Statements of Advice and other advice documents across all advice strategies, including Self-Managed Superannuation Fund, Gearing & Margin Lending and aged care.
• Experience in using financial planning software (COIN and/or XPlan).
• Advanced understanding of Word and Excel software.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to work within a team environment, whilst also having individual targets to meet.
• Ability to interact (both verbally and written form) effectively with planners.
• Coaching and training skills.
• Strong quality and compliance record.

Experience required

• A minimum of 4 years experience as a paraplanner.
• Ability to prepare SMSF, SMSF Borrowing and gearing advice documents.

Qualification/s required

• Completion of the Diploma of Financial Services (DFS).
• Completion (or progress towards) the Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning (DFP).
• Completion of the Kaplan Self-Managed Superannuation Fund program (or equivalent).
• Completion of the Kaplan Margin Lending program (or equivalent).
