At ORIX we are continuing to grow our Fleet Management and Leasing business and as a result we are in search of a well experienced and ambitious Compliance Officer for our Australian and New Zealand operations. This role reports to the Compliance and Quality Manager– ANZ and is based in Macquarie Park, however you will be required to travel domestically and internationally from time to time as the Compliance Department supports the business across Australia and New Zealand and works in conjunction with related functions across ORIX Corporation globally including the Office of Global Compliance.

This permanent position will support the Compliance and Quality Manager – ANZ in delivering effective Compliance and Quality programs across the OACL Group.

Other key components of the role include:

  • Delivering compliance testing and monitoring services
  • Developing and maintaining policies, procedures and other compliance-driven governance documents
  • Assisting the Compliance and Quality Manager – ANZ in managing and reporting on compliance incidents relating to Code of Conduct and Ethics, Whistle blowers and Complaints programs
  • Effectively promoting a strong compliance culture across the ORIX group
  • Providing efficient and timely administrative compliance support services to the  Compliance and Quality Manager – ANZ
  • Assisting with various tasks and compliance related duties as required

About You

  • A minimum of 5 years experience within a compliance, audit, risk, legal or similar governance discipline within the financial services industry (or other highly regulated industry)
  • Experience conducting compliance- focused risk assessments and developing risk mitigation plans
  • Ability to support the effective provision of a range of services and activities to meet identified priorities under a compliance program
  • Good working knowledge of relevant regulatory legislation and the ability to interpret legislation
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Strong planning and organisational skills – ability to cope with pressure and tight deadlines; prioritise and organise workloads
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
