Your Role
The Risk & Compliance team plays an important role in providing internal services and expertise across all aspects of the company's activities to ensure the effective management of risk and compliance. 
 
An exciting opportunity is available for a self driven Compliance Manager who has gained experience within the financial services environment and the ability to take ownership of a Compliance framework for a retail bank. You will be a self starter, autonomous and have a good level of commercial awareness.
 
Reporting to the Head of Risk & Compliance, you will take ownership over the Compliance framework, and be a trusted advisor to management and the executive team.
 
The role will focus on a number of key areas:

• Analysis of Australian Military Bank's compliance obligations
• Root cause analysis of complaints and compliance issues 
• Maintenance of compliance and contract management systems
• Review supplier and service contracts.
• Ongoing monitoring and management of regulatory and industry developments 
• Reviewing and signing off on Bank documentation including marketing and formal dispute responses
• Board and Committee reporting requirements
• Licensing obligation and breach investigation including report and stakeholders engagement
• Reporting and follow up on remedial action
• Assist with the uplift of the Bank's Risk and Compliance culture

We can consider full time or part time (3-4 days) and also have the flexibility to provide a hybrid role for those that need some respite from the demands of a full-time job.
 
About You
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in:

•  Minimum 5 years of experience gained in Compliance within Retail Banking
• Improving and monitoring compliance frameworks
• Succinct  report writing and letter drafting skills with value-adding analysis
• Commercial and risk based application of legislation, regulatory guides and APRA Prudential Standards
• Communicating effectively including the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders
• Completed Tertiary qualifications in Legal or Business disciplines
• An admitted legal professional with experience in contract law is desirable
