Suncorp’s Group Financial Crimes division is dedicated to the prevention, detection and response to financial crime. Reporting to the Manager Financial Crimes, the Senior Financial Crime Investigator role will play a part in all aspects of the division, and more specifically efficiently and effectively supporting investigations of financial crimes as delegated, including fraud, scams, financial abuse and AML CTF.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out financial crime investigations, ensuring compliance with internal financial crime policies and external regulatory obligations
- Supporting the financial crime investigations of other Investigators, providing guidance and instruction
- Coaching and mentoring the Investigations team, including identification of skill / knowledge gaps and the provide training to remediate
- Identifying, investigating, confirming and reporting financial crime activity
- Approving investigation reports presented by other investigators as per delegation
- Managing case workflow for Investigations tea.
- Ensuring financial crime investigations of the team are conducted in accordance with Board policies and approved standards
- Taking ownership of the customer experience through the financial crime investigations life cycle.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 year’s Banking experience
- Minimum 3 year’s Investigations experience
- AML CTF experience is desirable
- Strong customer service experience
- Strong facilitation, negotiation and communication skills, to achieve a measured outcome through external regulatory and industry bodies
- Ability to clearly present and articulate risk positions, reviews and/or recommendations to lines of business and other key stakeholders
- Ability to apply existing knowledge and experience to new threats and form a risk view and develop potential risk prevention, detections and response controls.
