Do you want to advise leading debt and capital providers and guide corporate Boards through challenging financial and operational situations?

About Deloitte Restructuring Services

Deloitte Restructuring is Australia’s leading fully integrated national practice providing financial restructuring and turnaround advisory services to businesses, capital providers and the public sector.

Our business is about capital at risk, where it has been poorly used or market conditions have not been conducive to success. Sometimes that capital is merely underperforming other times it will be facing serious crisis.

Whether we are advising the providers of capital or the management whose job it is to deliver a return, we help our clients navigate through challenging times and assist them to make the best decisions to protect and recover value. We help manage our client’s critical stakeholders while turning around operations, restructuring a balance sheet or providing transaction advice.

About the Advisory Team

We are a group of innovative and passionate people providing strategic, commercial and financial expertise to assess options for stakeholders to maximise their outcomes in complex and often distressed situations. Our team works across the private and listed markets in Australia and across Asia, with deep relationships in legal, banking and alternate financier networks locally and globally. The breadth of the Deloitte network means we are often called upon to support global restructuring activities.

About the Opportunity

You will be working in teams to understand the financial position of a business and recommend a course of action that will assist in improving the position of our client. You will continue to develop your already solid analytical, problem solving and report writing skills.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Guiding Boards, management teams and other key stakeholders through challenging financial and operational situations.
  • Assisting in the delivery of Independent Business Reviews and Strategic Performance Reviews that often extend to follow-on engagements spanning business improvement, organisation development, corporate restructure, cost reduction, merger and acquisition and business stabilisation programs.
  • Managing project teams to deliver timely and high quality outputs, whilst simultaneously playing a critically valuable coaching role in developing the careers of junior team members.

About You

You will ideally be able to demonstrate;

  • A passion for collaborating with others to solve complex operational and financial problems.
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise and engaging reports and presentations.
  • An ability to shape and influence thinking, build trust and nurture relationships.
  • Some financial and/or operational restructuring, advisory or turnaround experience.
  • An understanding of finance, supported by a background in a related field. This may be further complemented by a relevant post-graduate qualification such as CA, CFA or MBA, or a willingness to undertake further study.

About Us: Deloitte Culture

We pride ourselves on our team of diverse, high performing Deloitte Professionals who are talented, supportive, inclusive and social - and who are at the heart of our success. Our aim is to ensure that all our people feel comfortable to bring their whole selves to work, and as a result, create a workplace that encourages the true spirit of 'And different'.

From day one at our firm you’ll be considered part of the Deloitte community and our development and career progression framework will help you develop the skills and capabilities you need to succeed - in every sense of the word.
