Reporting to the Financial Controller the Financial Accountant(s) will be responsible for the integrity of the balance sheet and provide accurate and timely information to the executive team locally and the UK.   Ensuring that all activities are conducted compliantly in accordance with all Federal, State, Industry Legislation, Regulations, Standards & Guidelines, you will also assist with month- end and year-end statutory reporting and other financial compliance requirements.

 

Accountant 1

  • Manage the circa $250m fixed asset register.
  • Month-end reporting comprising of month-end accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, foreign currency adjustments and fixed asset register maintenance.
  • Capitalise, review and manage fixed asset register and capital work in progress accounts.
  • Undertake aged debtor analysis, investigate key outstanding debtors and collate results.
  • MPC collation and preparation of reporting to the UK.
  • Prepare capital expenditure forecast models for the business.

     

    Essential

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with a minimum 2-3 years of experience.
  • Membership of an internationally recognised professional accounting body (CA/CPA) or working towards this.

 

Accountant 2

  • Document various financial transactions by posting manual journal entries.
  • Month-end reporting comprising of month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Document financial transactions on an ongoing basis including banking transaction coding, GST journals, maintaining prepayment schedule and GL reconciliation monitoring.
  • Assist with MPC collation and preparation of reporting to the UK.

 

Essential

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with a minimum 1-2 years of experience.
  • Working towards membership of an internationally recognised professional accounting body (CA/CPA).

     

The Financial Accountants will be required to obtain a strong understanding of the capacity and workflows of the financial accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions and will be involved in the reviewing of the following key processes/ procedures to identify and drive efficiencies:

  • General Ledger reconciliations.
  • Month-end process.
  • Team KPI’s.
  • Tax compliance.
  • Specific projects.
  • Financial derivatives accounting and valuation assessment specifically for hedge transactions/treasury management.

    For each of the above processes/ procedures the Financial Accountant, through collaboration with relevant personnel, will:

  • Identify the areas of inefficiency.
  • Produce a list of solutions that are practical and achievable.
  • Produce a project plan with timelines and resources required.
  • Manage and drive the achievement of that plan through collaboration with relevant department.
  • Monthly status update detailing key risks and proposed mitigating solutions.

 

Your Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience in corporate accounting and reporting with strong understanding of accounting concepts, principles and standards.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively to drive efficiencies through process change and continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience in system change and ability to drive process improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of key business processes and systems. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Good knowledge and application of Contract and/or Engineering accounting concepts and practical implementation.
