An Index Partners Financial Analyst helps our clients make major decisions about which businesses they should deal with. This role supports the Head Of Financial Risk Assessments, preparing detailed financial assessments. The core aim of the role is to analyse information that is related to the financial performance and financial position of a business and input this information into our database. Our analyst can also explain why (or why not) a business may be risky, which involves researching and updating company information using a range of resources such as financial reports, ASIC extracts, illion records and court filings.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to complete their CA program under the supervision of a CA.
In this role, you will also be responsible for:
- Processing, keying and checking of company financial information and other ASIC lodgements which are entered into databases
- Obtaining new information on the company that will provide benefit to illion’s clients and increase the marketability of the product
- Prioritising, manage and distribute incoming and outgoing client request communications
- Updating reports when correspondence is received from a company to ensure accurate information is contained in the report
- Monitoring the financial information entered by offshore processors and entering the relevant financial information into the database when required.
The ideal candidate will also have the following experience and skills:
- Accounting Degree. Chartered Accountant or completing study towards becoming a Chartered Accountant.
- Proven track record in navigating company financial statements/annual reports.
- Knowledge of Australian GAAP and IFRS.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Access).
- Proven ability to navigate and break down company financial information – Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement and accompanying notes.
- Strong verbal and written business communication skills.
- The ability to work autonomously, manage your time, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and be flexible in an environment where priorities change on a daily basis.
