Our Corporate Office team, located in Glenfield is currently in search of a permanent full time Senior Payroll Officer to join their team. If you’ve got at least three (3) years of experience working in a similar role and you have a passion for making a difference, we would love to hear from you.

YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, your will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the annual reconciliations of wages for end of financial year reporting, fringe benefits tax reporting and workers compensation premium purposes.
  • Assisting with the provision of Payroll and Workforce management systems training, support including travelling to regional sites when necessary to complete this.
  • Provision of payroll services and staff remuneration and ensuring compliance with criminal record checks, qualifications and training.
  • Providing assistance and support to facilities regarding the Payroll and Workforce management systems and ensuring any issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring PAYG payments are made within legislative timeframes, and timely processing and payments of employee superannuation payment and deductions.
  • Accurate analysis and reporting on a monthly and fortnightly basis with relevant departments.
  • Providing roster and payroll analysis and consulting with managers and the finance team to advise on trending and exceptions
  • Supporting the Payroll and WC Compensation Manager with BAU and project related tasks and management reporting
  • Supporting the Payroll and WC Compensation Manager, Payroll Team and/or other Whiddon stakeholders on projects as and when required, including acting in the role as required.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

To be considered for this position, the successful applicant will have:

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration, payroll administration or similar
  • Advanced skills in payroll computer systems, including time and attendance systems
  • At leave three (3) years’ demonstrated experience working in a similar role
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including payroll and roster analysis
  • Ability to interpret relevant workplace agreements and legislation
  • Ability to support and train others in payroll practices and procedures
  • Gap identification and continuous improvement
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Strong ability to generate procedures and reports, including payroll reporting
  • The right to work in Australia.
  • While experience working in the aged and community care industry is desirable, it is not essential.
