This role requires a hands-on, proactive individual with strong interpersonal and communications skills who will work with the management team to drive the business forward. This will entail ensuring compliance with accounting standards & statutory requirements and completing all required reporting in an accurate & timely manner. Leading organisation who is currently looking to hire a Financial Controller on an initial 3 month contract with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent. Located in a convenient Western Sydney location, they will offer the successful applicant the opportunity to work in a broad Financial Controller role for a business with market leading brands.
Description
- Oversee all company accounts and investments
- Manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger and counsel, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition
- Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants
- Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies and create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
- Additional controller duties as necessary
Profile
- CA / CPA Experience Required (MBA ideal not required
- Proven track record in a large company (across a full range of financial functions)
- Demonstrated financial and personnel results as a Controller or Senior Management executive
- Leading analytical abilities, communication skills and leadership
- High level of understanding of IT
- High level of personal drive and desire to improve company and individual performance
- Clarity of thought and expression - able to communicate trends and performance, across the organization
- Proactive ‘driver of results’
- Demonstrable integrity
