Client Details

Leading organisation who is currently looking to hire a Financial Controller on an initial 3 month contract with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent. Located in a convenient Western Sydney location, they will offer the successful applicant the opportunity to work in a broad Financial Controller role for a business with market leading brands.

Description

• Oversee all company accounts and investments

• Manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger and counsel, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition

• Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts

• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances

• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements

• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting

• Research technical accounting issues for compliance

• Support month-end and year-end close process

• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

• Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing

• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

• Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants

• Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies and create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations

• Additional controller duties as necessary

Profile

• CA / CPA Experience Required (MBA ideal not required

• Proven track record in a large company (across a full range of financial functions)

• Demonstrated financial and personnel results as a Controller or Senior Management executive

• Leading analytical abilities, communication skills and leadership

• High level of understanding of IT

• High level of personal drive and desire to improve company and individual performance

• Clarity of thought and expression - able to communicate trends and performance, across the organization

• Proactive ‘driver of results’

• Demonstrable integrity
