In Financial Services, we are responsible for the effective and efficient management of Council’s financial functions, including corporate and financial accounting, rates, and purchasing and supply. We are Fit for the Future and our hard working team of finance professionals are building on our strong financial sustainability and facilitating the delivery of our Community’s and Council’s vision for our City.

We are looking for a Banking Clerk to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the daily banking process, bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, processing dishonours and unpresented cheques, preparing memos and correspondence, responding to customer enquiries and performing general administrative tasks as required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven relevant experience in a similar position
  • Experience in administration duties
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • High level verbal and solid written communication skills
  • Cash handling experience
  • Banking and reconciliations experience
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in Office Administration or relevant field
  • Knowledge of Local Government functions
  • Experience with Technology One products, namely Finance One and Property and Rating
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence

Commencing Salary: $50,400 - $57,800 per annum, plus 9.5% superannuation
