General Motors Financial is expanding into Australia with headquarters based in Port Melbourne. To support the launch of new operations, we are looking for a highly experienced Finance Manager to become a foundation member of our exciting new organisation and assist in establishing our Finance & Accounting function in Australia.

About the role …

Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for GM Financial's internal and external financial reporting requirements for Australia and GMF's International Operations.

This role will see you working on a broad range of projects to support our pre-launch activities in Australia. A large focus of the role will be on management of enterprise wide activities and systems to ensure that the financial status of the Australian operations are effectively reported to various local and global leaders. You will also be working with senior stakeholders to ensure compliance with business reporting, taxation and statutory requirements. Consequently, your problem solving abilities, attention to detail, deep knowledge of analytical techniques, and excellent communication skills will be highly regarded.

You will pride yourself in …

• Strong business acumen with the ability to provide the local and global executive teams data driven business insights which translate into business performance and profitability
• Demonstrated track record in producing accurate ad-hoc and bespoke financial reporting inclusive of month-end journal entries and account reconciliations
• Experience in preparation of monthly Statements, Cash Flows, and Country Results Reviews and associated analytics 
• End to end experience in managing local taxation obligations  e.g. BAS, FBT, ITR, payroll tax & workers comp
• Experience in managing and preparing APRA monthly returns for a financial services organisation
• Demonstrated 7+ years’ progressive experience in accounting 
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting - CPA or CA required
• Your experience within the Asset Finance Industry would be highly regarded
