The Client
My client is a well-established and consistently growing engineering business with multiple offices Australia wide. Headquartered on the North Shore of Sydney, this business has been involved with a high number of large projects - many of which are instantly recognisable. Known in the market for delivering exceptional results with maximum efficiency, they are seeking a seasoned Finance Manager to join their professional team.
The Role
Due to a result of sustained growth the business is now offering a fantastic opportunity for a strategic-minded Finance Manager to have a positive impact on the business, and add some real value to their day to day operation. You will have involvement at the senior levels of the business and influence the outcomes with your relationship building skills.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Implementing stringent financial controls, and improving current processes and procedures for all entities
- Mentor and support your team of 5 direct reports who are all experienced in their role
- Provide high-level strategic accounting advice and decision support to senior management
- Preparation of all statutory accounts including BAS, FBT and Tax
- Review transactional finance submissions including payroll and and PAYG tax
- Due diligence for mergers & acquisitions
- Work closely with the business in assessing financial impact of commercial decisions and the required accounting changes
- Ensure compliance is a high priority for the group
- Maintenance of balance sheets, P&L and cash flow
The Candidate
This is a great role for a Senior Manager from a Big 4 or similar firm to step into the commercial environment. To be considered for this role you will have a strong operational background from a chartered or timed billing environment, or commercial role. You will also have excellent relationship building skills and be able to influence outcomes with senior business leaders. You will also have/be:
- CA/CPA qualified
- Big 4 experience preferred
- MYOB experience
- High level Excel skills
- 5 years experience in a similar role
- High level communication skills, verbal and written
- Experience leading a team of 3 or more people
