Our client are a established professional services organisation in the CBD who are now seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this role plays a vital part of providing financial and accounting support to the finance team and the wider business operations.
This role offers an excellent career progression opportunity for an experienced Accounts or Finance Officer who has a minimum of 2-3 year’s experience undertaking transactional finance activities and is ready to progress their career. Or if you are currently operating at an Assistant Accountant level and seeking a new opportunity your application will be highly regarded.
The ideal candidate will be hands-on, very reliable and enjoy working within a small finance team. Broad accounting knowledge and experience within a medium to large sized companies are the preferred background.
In return you will gain exposure to complex transactional finance, reporting and multiple ad-hoc duties.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accounts payable and receivables
- Bank and Balance sheet reconciliations
- Inter-company reconciliations and credit card statements
- Assistance with month-end processing and reporting
- Building and maintaining relationships with existing stakeholders
- Ad-hoc support for various finance initiatives to streamline current processes
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting or other relevant discipline
- Minimum of 2 years relevant Accounts experience; AP, AR and Reconciliations
- MYOB Advanced experience is essential
- Studying towards CA / CPA is highly regarded
- Intermediate Excel skills required
- Friendly, can-do attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a professional environment is highly desired
